Atencio Lopez

Atencio Lopez is member of the Kuna people, born in the county of Kuna Yala, Panama. He studied at the Panama National University School of Law and Politics. He has held various positions in Panamanian and international indigenous organizations.

Professional Background:

  • Consultant for GEF/World Bank in Mesoamerican Biological Corridor of the Panamanian Atlantic project. Expert in Community Subprojects (Panama, 2001-2004)
  • Coordinator of Spanish course for Indigenous Leaders and Policymakers at the International Training Center of Indigenous Peoples (ITCIP), Nuuk, Greenland, July, 2004
