Lucia Fernanda Kaigang

Lucia Fernanda Kaigang is Kaigang, and the only IPR- indigenous lawyer in Brazil. She is the current Executive Director of the Brazilian Indigenous Insitute of Intellectual Property [INBRAPI].

Born in Rio Grande do Sul, she is also Legal Advisor of Guarani and Kaigang indigenous peoples. Lucia is responsible for training of indigenous leaders and teachers in constitutional issues, indigenous peoples' rights and intellectual property.

She was formerly advisor for the General Coordination for the Defence of Indigenous Peoples' Rights of the Fundación Nacional del Indio (National Indian Foundation, FUNAI) in Brasilia.
